The latest edition of Hex Magazine, Issue 8, has an article called “Creating Community in the modern world”, we should all read this!

June 18th we had a Midsummer Feast. The feast included hamsteaks, biscuits, grapes, fried apples, watermelon, and cherry pie. It was a small get together, but still rather enjoyable and yummy.

Description: Come on out the the Eosturmonath party and celebrate! We’re gonna have some polish sausage and brats on the grill, with chips n dip, non-alcoholic beverages and any side dish you’d like to bring(i.e. potato salad, devilled eggs, fruits/berries n dip, etc). We be starting at noonish and hang out for a few hours till about 3pm or so. Bring your fishing poles and/or swimwear for some fun in the sun. Children are welcome of course, and don’t forget the sunscreen! YEEHAW!

Great Moot yesterday!
Got a table in the less crowded section of the restaurant. First to show were the Farmers, and newcomer Zach Hoover, then the Hubbards with Mike Wilson in tow. After getting some grub from the buffets, we started in on deciding our next moot. Since the Hubbards will be having an Eostre(Ostara) event next month, we’ll combine it with moot. Planned for the 26th at a park TBA.
Next up we had some discussion of the lore, and various theories and UPG in regards to the deities, the wights, etc. A very good and productive discussion. We also discussed a possible Thing for Tennessee. The consensus was to have a gathering, like a festival, to socialize more with the other heathen groups in the state and then figure out if a Thing is possible, or even wanted. So, it looks like we’ll be planning a TN Folkfest for the fall season.

The moot was a great success! We had some awesome food: BBQ pork ribs, bowtie pasta with pesto, party platter, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, brownies, and cupcakes. The first to show up was Mike Wilson who made the ribs. Next, Mike and Lana Hubbard arrived with a yummy party platter of pepperoni, crackers, cheeses, and olives. Hail to the Hubbards for bringing the extra chairs! A little bit later, Lagaria and Billy Farmer showed up with their son and daughter. Al and Devin Centonze made their appearance soon after(sorry to Devin who slipped on the ice). Then Tanya Steinback and her children arrived, with some delicious cupcakes. Many discussions were had, laughs all around, with bbq sauce on our faces. The kids had fun with the princess tents, video games, checkers, and coloring. It was great for people to finally meet face to face, and get to know each other better.
At the end we shared a horn of sparkling red grape juice cocktail.
